Analysis of the results of the fundamental population prognosis of regions and districts of Slovakia

The Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with Infostat presents analyses of the results of the fundamental population prognosis of regions and districts of Slovakia. The population census provides a lot of important information about the regions of Slovakia, not only demographic but also many other information that have an impact on the development of demographic processes and structures. After each census, population prognoses are produced, and regional demographic prognoses - at the level of regions and districts - are a stable part of these prognoses. The regional prognosis for 2023 (as well as the previous regional prognoses since 1993) are processed using the classical cohort-component method. The base year of the prognosis is 2022, the prognosis horizon is 2050. Outputs are available for each year of the prognosis period.
