Explaining remark
A dwelling household consists of all persons who jointly occupy one dwelling, i. e., each occupied dwelling represents one dwelling household.
Since 1950 to 2001, households were surveyed based on the permantent residence of the population; in 2011, it was based on the place of the census count; and in 2021, it was on the place of current residence.
A census household consists of persons who jointly occupy one dwelling and is determined on the basis of reciprocal family relations. The census household is the basic unit and is not further divided.
The category „Couple Household“ includes couple households with children and couple households without children established by marriage or cohabitation.
The „Lone Parent Household“ category includes lone parent families (lone mother or lone mother) with at least one child.
The category „Non-family household“ includes persons without a direct 1st degree relationship (husband/wife, cohabiting partners, son/daughter, father/mother). The 2021 data also include collective and institutional households in the category.
„One-person households“ are a specific type of non-family households“.
