Forecast of the Cultural Regions of Slovakia

The cultural regions of Slovakia represent specific population entities that are not administratively defined but whose identification has been determined by certain cultural similarities or differences. They therefore constitute a distinct territorial unit that has never before been examined in depth within demographic statistics. Various cultural traits are considered to be important differentiating factors influencing family and reproductive behaviour, and thus population development itself. 

The aim of this publication is to present the main results of the population projection for each cultural region separately, focusing not only on the number of inhabitants but also on selected key characteristics of the age structure.
