Homeless people

The Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic has published results on homeless people based on the 2021 Population and Housing Census. For the purposes of the 2021 Census, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic has defined groups of "homeless people" in the context of international recommendations. Concept and methodology of the census allowed for the quantification of the secondary homeless, residents who use different types of temporary accommodation and often move between accommodation such as a shelter, halfway home, emergency housing equipment or reside in non-conventional housing (recreational object; emergency object, not intended for housing; mobile homes). Data on primary homeless – about people living on the street have not been the subject of a census.
